In this episode of The Law Enforcement Social Media Podcast, Arlen, Marc and I took the show onto the new live video streaming service called BLAB.

We had a great time actually fielding some live questions, and had some cameo appearances by Deputy Tony Moore of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and Mr. Jon "Mitch" Jackson, an attorney in Orange County who is breaking ground on social media.

With Tony and Mitch, we covered topics from using social media and blab as a community policing tool and how law enforcement agencies could do a better job at sharing each other's content.

Mitch JacksonHow to Stop Internet Trolls
with Mitch Jackson

Wednesday, October 14 @ 11 a.m. P/T

After recently participating on the "Law Panel" at the Periscope Summit in New York, Mitch was moved after hearing some of the experiences people had on social media, in particular, the app Periscope.

If you are unfamiliar with Mitch's work, he recently held a live show on Periscope, on how to deal with trolls. The replay can be watched by clicking here.

If you are a law enforcement social media manager, look at some of the material Mitch has been publishing and you'll quickly find Mitch is a great resource to have.

Tony MooreCyber Safety Tips For Parents of Teens
with Tony Moore, Brett Shavers and Chris Meadows

Tuesday, October 13 @ 5 p.m. P/T

We've surpassed the statement that social media is becoming increasingly popular with teens. We have reached a point where it is a staple in many people's lives, especially teens.

Parents of the previous generation may not be up to speed with the latest and greatest when it comes to online activities. Many parents have a difficult time keeping up with the technology and what their children are doing with it.

Unfortunately, online activities by teens can sometimes have a very tragic ending.

Tony Moore, Brett Shavers and Chris Meadows are some of the great leaders on the topic of cyber safety and security. They are trusted colleagues in the law enforcement profession, and will be offering their insight and expertise in their upcoming BLAB.

Our New Show on LESMLive

880 ad

Thursdays, 8 p.m. P/T

We'll still be producing our weekly podcast, but now you'll be able to join us LIVE as we record it on BLAB. Follow our new Twitter account, @LESMLive, like us on Facebook, and follow us at BLAB.im/LESMLive to receive notifications of upcoming shows.

For the first part of our shows, we're looking forward to having various guests and discussions on law enforcement social media topics. During the second part, we'll open the show up to connect with the community and answer questions people might have.

We feel this is another way law enforcement can connect with those we are sworn to protect, the people of this great country.

This is exactly how social media should be used. I enjoy how the officers are engaging and connecting with not only their local communities, but people from around the world. I’m so glad our digital paths have crossed and look forward to seeing, hearing and watching more!
